H-Tyr-Ala-Asp-Ala-Ile-Phe-Thr-Asn-Ser-Tyr-Arg-Lys-Val-Leu-Gly-Gln-Leu-Ser-Ala-Arg-Lys-Leu-Leu-Gln-Asp-Ile-Met-Ser-Arg-NH₂
Structural Characteristics:
Sermorelin is a 29-amino acid synthetic peptide analog corresponding to the N-terminal fragment of endogenous growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH 1–44). It selectively binds to and activates the GHRH receptor on pituitary somatotrophs, stimulating the physiologic release of growth hormone in a pulsatile manner. Due to its shorter half-life compared to modified GHRH analogs, it closely mimics the natural pattern of GH secretion.
Mechanism of Action (Research Context):
Sermorelin is investigated for potential applications in:
- Studying pituitary regulation of growth hormone secretion
- Examining age-related declines in GH production
- Exploring effects on muscle mass, bone density, and metabolism
- Research on recovery, tissue repair, and regenerative pathways through GH–IGF-1 axis modulation
Synthesis and Quality Control:
- Produced via solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS)
- Purified to ≥98% by HPLC
- Verified by Mass Spectrometry (MS)
